Artist Bio:
Stevie Wonder is one of the most celebrated and influential artists in music history. As a singer-songwriter, musician and producer, he has spent more than six decades creating music that has crossed genres, generations and borders.
Born Stevland Hardaway Morris, Wonder began his recording career as a child and was already making history by the age of 12. His 1963 hit ‘Fingertips Part 2’ made him the youngest solo artist to top the Billboard Hot 100 at the time, marking the beginning of a remarkable career.
Wonder went on to become one of Motown’s defining artists, producing a catalogue filled with timeless songs including ‘Superstition’, ‘Sir Duke’, ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, ‘Higher Ground’, ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered I’m Yours’ and ‘I Just Called to Say I Love You’. His landmark albums include ‘Talking Book’, ‘Innervisions’ and ‘Songs in the Key of Life’, the latter of which is preserved in the US National Recording Registry for its cultural, historical and artistic significance.
His achievements speak for themselves. Wonder has won 25 Grammy Awards, including the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as an Academy Award and Golden Globe. He has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Music, however, has always been just one part of Wonder’s story. He has used his platform to campaign for social change and equality throughout his career. In the 1980s, he played a major role in the campaign to establish Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a US national holiday, with his song ‘Happy Birthday’ becoming closely associated with the movement. He also took part in the historic ‘We Are the World’ recording and was an outspoken opponent of apartheid in South Africa.
Wonder’s work has earned him honours around the world, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the Kennedy Center Honors and the Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. He was also named a United Nations Messenger of Peace, with a particular focus on people with disabilities.
Despite the extraordinary list of awards and achievements, Wonder’s lasting impact can perhaps best be measured through his music. His songs continue to be played, covered and discovered by new generations, while his influence can be heard across soul, R&B, pop and countless other corners of modern music.
More than 60 years after his recording debut, Stevie Wonder remains an extraordinary creative force and one of the most important voices in popular music.

Stevie Wonder has announced a run of UK live dates celebrating 50 years of his iconic album ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ . The shows will see Wonder perform Songs In The Key Of Life in its entirety, giving fans the chance to hear one of the most celebrated albums in music history performed live from start to finish.
Originally released in 1976, ‘Songs In The Key Of Life’ became one of the defining albums of Wonder’s career. It earned him the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, his third win in the category, and went on to sell more than 10 million copies worldwide. The album was also added to the US National Recording Registry in recognition of its cultural, historical and artistic importance.
The record remains packed with songs that have become part of the soundtrack to generations, including ‘Sir Duke’, ‘Isn’t She Lovely’, ‘As’ and ‘Love’s In Need Of Love Today’. Its themes of love, hope, connection and resilience have helped the album remain just as relevant decades after its original release.
The 50th anniversary shows will celebrate both the album and Wonder’s extraordinary career, bringing its songs to a new generation while giving long-time fans the opportunity to experience the record in a completely live setting.
