Artist Bio:

Kacey Musgraves is a Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter known for blending country, pop and folk influences with sharp, introspective lyricism.

Born in Golden, Texas, Musgraves began writing songs at a young age before rising to prominence with her debut album 2013s ‘Same Trailer Different Park’. The record earned widespread acclaim for its fresh take on country music, tackling themes such as small-town life, individuality and social norms with wit and honesty.

She continued to evolve her sound with subsequent releases, most notably 2018s ‘Golden Hour’, which saw her expand into a more genre-fluid style incorporating elements of pop and disco. The album was a major critical and commercial success, earning her the Grammy Award for Album of the Year and cementing her reputation as one of the most innovative voices in modern country music.

Known for her warm, melodic sound and candid storytelling, Musgraves often explores themes of love, self-discovery and personal growth. With a string of acclaimed albums and a dedicated global fanbase, she has established herself as a distinctive and influential artist who continues to push the boundaries of contemporary country.

Artist News:

Inspired by a sign in her hometown of Golden, Texas that reads “Golden, TX: Somewhere in the Middle of Nowhere”, the track reflects a more introspective chapter, shaping the album’s central theme.

Produced by Musgraves alongside longtime collaborators Daniel Tashian and Ian Fitchuk, the record follows lead single ‘Dry Spell’, a sharp, self-aware release showcasing her signature wit.

Written in the aftermath of a breakup, ‘Middle of Nowhere’ blends traditional country elements with broader influences including bluegrass, pop, Norteño and Zydeco. Featuring collaborations with Willie Nelson, Miranda Lambert, Billy Strings and Gregory Alan Isakov, the album offers a reflective yet expansive take on Musgraves’ evolving sound.
