Artist Bio:
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, also known as SMKC, are a rock band built around iconic guitarist Slash and Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy. Alongside Todd Kerns on bass and vocals, Brent Fitz on drums and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar, the band have spent more than a decade building a reputation for energetic live shows and straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll.
Slash is one of the most recognisable guitarists in rock history. As a member of Guns N’ Roses, he helped create some of the genre’s most memorable guitar moments, including the iconic riffs on ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ and ‘Welcome to the Jungle’. He went on to perform with Slash’s Snakepit and supergroup Velvet Revolver before launching his solo career.
His self-titled debut solo album, ‘Slash’, was released in 2010 and featured collaborations with artists including Ozzy Osbourne, Fergie and Myles Kennedy. The album helped lay the foundations for what would become SMKC, with Slash and Kennedy going on to form a long-running musical partnership.
SMKC released their debut album, ‘Apocalyptic Love’, in 2012. The record reached No.4 on the US Billboard 200 and No.1 on the Top Rock Albums chart, producing the band’s first No.1 rock radio hits, ‘You’re a Lie’ and ‘Standing in the Sun’. They followed it with albums including ‘World on Fire’ and ‘Living the Dream’, continuing to build their international following.
In 2022, the band released ‘4’ via Gibson Records. Recorded live at Nashville’s RCA Studio A and produced by Dave Cobb, the album became the No.1 bestselling hard rock album in the US, while ‘The River Is Rising’ became their eighth consecutive Top 10 rock radio single.
Away from SMKC, Slash has enjoyed a career that has taken him well beyond Guns N’ Roses. He has sold more than 100 million albums, won a GRAMMY Award, received seven nominations and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He has also been named one of the greatest electric guitar players of all time, including a No.2 ranking behind Jimi Hendrix in TIME magazine’s list of the greatest electric guitarists.
Guns N’ Roses reunited in 2016, with Slash returning alongside Axl Rose and Duff McKagan for the band’s historic return to the global stage. At the same time, SMKC have continued to tour and record together, establishing their own identity as a major modern rock act.
Their fifth studio album, ‘Flying Blind’, is set for release on 26 February 2027 via Gibson Records. Recorded with longtime producer Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette, the 12-track album sees SMKC embracing a raw, spontaneous approach, with Slash describing it as a simple and down-to-earth rock ‘n’ roll record.
With more than a decade of music and touring behind them, SMKC continue to combine Slash’s instantly recognisable guitar sound with Myles Kennedy’s powerful vocals, creating a style that feels rooted in classic rock while remaining firmly their own.
Artist News:
Slash featuring Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators, also known as SMKC, have announced their new album ‘Flying Blind’, alongside a brand-new single of the same name and an extensive world tour coming to the UK and Europe in 2027.
‘Flying Blind’ is the first taste of the band’s fifth studio album, which will be released worldwide on 26 February 2027 via Gibson Records. The anthemic new track arrives with an official music video and marks the beginning of a new chapter for the rock collaboration.
The FLYING BLIND WORLD TOUR 2027 will launch in Latin America in April before heading to North America from 23 April and continuing through the UK and Europe. The tour will give fans another chance to experience the band’s trademark blend of powerful guitar work, big rock vocals and energetic live performances.
Recorded largely live at Studio Barbarosa in Florida with longtime producer Michael ‘Elvis’ Baskette, ‘Flying Blind’ features 12 tracks and captures the band playing together in the same room. Much of the album was completed in around a week, with the musicians often recording two songs a day.
The line-up features Slash on guitar and pedal steel, Myles Kennedy on vocals, Todd Kerns on bass and vocals, Brent Fitz on drums and Frank Sidoris on rhythm guitar.
Fifteen years after the collaboration began, SMKC continue to focus on the simple pleasure of playing rock music together. ‘Flying Blind’ promises to carry that spirit into a new era while keeping the raw, immediate sound that has become central to the band’s identity.
