Artist Bio:

Emerging in 1996, Placebo quickly established themselves as one of the most distinctive voices in alternative rock. At a time when British guitar music was dominated by Britpop’s nostalgia and conventional masculinity, the band offered something radically different. This fearless approach resonated with audiences who felt outside the mainstream, allowing the alt-rockers build a deeply loyal global following. Over the years, their influence has continued to echo across generations of artists, cementing their legacy as pioneers who reshaped the boundaries of modern rock.

Artist News:

Marking 30 years since their groundbreaking debut, Placebo return with ‘Placebo RE:CREATED’, a bold reimagining of the album that first introduced them to the world in 1996. The release is due out for release on on 19 June 2026 via Elevator Lady Ltd through AWAL.

Originally released at the height of the Britpop era, Placebo’s debut stood apart with its raw, confrontational perspective. The album features newly reworked versions of all 10 original tracks, alongside two bonus songs from the era. Recreated by Brian Molko and Rob Kirwan from the original master tapes and mixed by Adam Noble, the project balances preservation with progression, capturing the spirit of the original while pushing its sound into new territory.
