Oasis are one of the most influential British rock bands of all time, formed in Manchester in 1991 by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. With their swaggering attitude, huge choruses and unmistakably British sound, they became one of the defining bands of the Britpop era and went on to achieve global success.
Their breakthrough arrived with debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’ in 1994, followed by the era-defining ‘(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?’ in 1995. The album produced some of the band’s biggest songs, including ‘Wonderwall’, ‘Don’t Look Back In Anger’, ‘Champagne Supernova’ and ‘Some Might Say’, cementing Oasis as one of the biggest bands in the world.
Albums including ‘Be Here Now’, ‘Standing on the Shoulder of Giants’, ‘Heathen Chemistry’ and ‘Don’t Believe the Truth’ followed, while Oasis continued to build a reputation for massive live shows and anthems that became part of British popular culture.
After years of tension between the Gallagher brothers, Oasis split in 2009. Sixteen years later, Liam and Noel reunited for the hugely anticipated Oasis Live ’25 tour, bringing the band’s music back to stadiums across the UK and around the world.
The reunion reminded fans just how powerful the Oasis catalogue remains, with generations of fans coming together to sing the band’s biggest hits. A huge drone light display appeared above the Etihad Stadium at 11pm on Thursday (10 September), lighting up the sky with the band’s iconic black and white logo before revealing the date “14.09.26”. The dramatic display has fuelled excitement among fans ahead of what is expected to be news of a 2027 tour.

Oasis recently sparked fresh speculation that they could return to the stage in 2027, with the Gallagher brothers once again at the centre of intense tour rumours.
Following their hugely successful Oasis Live ’25 reunion tour, fans have been waiting to see whether the band will continue beyond their comeback shows. Those rumours have gathered pace in recent weeks, with reports suggesting a possible return to the UK and Europe next summer.
Noel Gallagher recently added further fuel to the speculation when discussing the possibility of Oasis touring in 2027. Asked about the prospect of another tour, he pointed to the lack of a major football tournament next summer, joking that there would therefore be something for the band to do.
The speculation has also been boosted by activity from Oasis themselves. The band have shared a series of cryptic teaser videos, prompting fans to search for clues about potential 2027 shows. One teaser featured two boys in a chip shop with ‘Little By Little’ playing on a television, with fans spotting possible references to Celtic Park in Glasgow. A further video has added to the mystery around what the band could be planning.
Manchester is another major focus of the rumours, with reports suggesting Oasis could potentially play a lengthy run of shows at the Etihad Stadium. A return to Knebworth has also been widely speculated, particularly as 2026 marks 30 years since the band’s legendary 1996 concerts at the Hertfordshire venue. The promoter behind the Oasis reunion shows, SJM Concerts, has also secured an events licence for Knebworth, adding further intrigue.
