Artist News:

Nothing But Thieves have launched a bold new era with the release of euphoric single ‘Evolution’ and the announcement of their fifth studio album, ‘Stray Dogs’, due out for release on 25 September 2026 via RCA/Sony Music.

Marking over a decade together, the Southend five-piece have spent the past ten years building a global following through four acclaimed albums, billions of streams and thousands of live performances worldwide. For ‘Stray Dogs’, Nothing But Thieves returned both physically and creatively to their roots, recording at Angelic Studios – the same studio where they created their debut album. Written together over an intensive five-month period, the album is described as their most cohesive and liberating work yet, exploring themes of community, belonging and shared outsider experiences.

The band teased the announcement through a creative grassroots campaign, including cryptic posters, a mysterious four-day YouTube livestream buildup and a secret Newcastle performance under the name ‘stray dogs’ following their appearance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend.

Lead single ‘Evolution’ debuted during a global livestream performance and was also named Radio 1’s Hottest Record with Jack Saunders. Combining soaring vocals, energetic guitars and an anthemic alt-pop sound, the track captures the nostalgic yet forward-looking energy that continues to define Nothing But Thieves.

The band commented, “It’s a song that’s not too concerned about finality. I think imperfection and authenticity is becoming ever more valuable and it’s definitely something we’re drawn to.”

“We’ve spent some time trying to work out what’s real and tangible about who we are and how we use our time. The people we travel the world with, the human moments on stage, the connection we make with those who come to our shows. That’s real.”

“It’s a bit of a love letter to the people in our world in that way.”
