Muse are one of the most acclaimed and influential rock bands of the modern era, comprising Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard, and Chris Wolstenholme. Since forming in 1994, the trio have built a global reputation for their genre-defying sound, combining alternative rock, progressive influences, electronic elements, and spectacular live performances.
The band have released nine studio albums and sold more than 30 million records worldwide. Their 2022 album, ‘Will of the People’, debuted at No.1 in multiple countries and became their seventh consecutive UK chart-topper. Muse have unveiled their latest single, ‘Nightshift Superstar’, the newest track to be taken from their forthcoming album ‘The Wow! Signal’, due out for release on 26 June 2026 via Warner Records.
The track follows a string of recent releases from the record, including ‘Be With You’, ‘Cryogen’, and ‘Hexagons’, while also featuring previously released single ‘Unravelling’, which first arrived in 2025.
The Devon rock trio first announced The Wow! Signal back in March with the release of ‘Be With You’, launching the album campaign with a unique announcement broadcast from space.
‘Be With You’ proved an immediate success, surpassing three million streams during its first week of release, becoming the most-added track at Alternative Radio and subsequently climbing into the format’s Top 5.
Through the music and visuals released so far, Muse have gradually revealed the concept behind ‘The Wow! Signal’. The album takes inspiration from one of astronomy’s most enduring mysteries: the “Wow! Signal”, a powerful 72-second radio transmission detected in 1977 from the direction of the Sagittarius constellation.
The signal earned its famous name after the astronomer who discovered it circled the unusual sequence “6EQUJ5” on a computer printout and wrote “WOW!” alongside it, creating a piece of scientific history that continues to fascinate researchers and the public alike.
Exploring themes of extraterrestrial communication, technological anxiety, existential wonder and humanity’s search for meaning in an increasingly disconnected world, ‘The Wow! Signal’ looks set to be one of Muse’s most ambitious and thought-provoking releases yet.
