Tom Odell has announced his fifth studio album ‘Best Day Of My Life’, due out on 28 October 2022.

The British award-winning songwriter has also shared new heartfelt single ‘Smiling All The Way Back Home’.

Discussing the new album Tom commented, “One year ago, almost exactly to the day, I set myself the challenge to write and record an entire album using only my voice and my piano with absolutely nothing else. I found myself digging deeper than I ever have before both with my words and piano playing. I am so proud of the way this record has turned out and I really cannot wait for you all to hear it.“

In addition, Tom has shared the first part of his new multi-part docu-series, which gives fans an insight into the making of the album. Part One is now available to watch, with further episodes to follow in the coming weeks.

After fulfilling his major label record deal in 2021, Tom has embarked on a new, independent chapter of his career. He said, “I feel so free, so liberated to be an independent artist. There’s a huge amount of relief in this music, of just getting to do exactly what I want to do.”

Speaking about the album’s creation process he continued, “I’ve never done an album that was just on the piano, and I thought it would be quite exciting. So, the whole album, there’s no other instrument on it. It is just piano and my voice. That was really incredible to work with those restrictions.”

Earlier this year the singer hit the road on a UK and European tour, following the conclusion of his North American headline run of shows and performance at Governors Ball Music Festival in New York City. After returning to the states in October to play Austin City Limits, he will head back to the UK for a string of in-store shows – full details below:
