The Dunwells

We first came across The Dunwells at the fantastic Black Deer Americana festival last year, when they played at the Cafe Nero tent. They had the place rocking with an enthusiastic, energetic set of catchy foot tapping songs. So, we did a bit of research and found out that they had already had a fair bit of success, having previously toured America, performed at all the major festivals and even appeared on the Jay Leno show! And with a single that had big success, they decided that they needed to go back to their families and reassess what they were aiming for.

Tonight, at the Sunflower they again showed why we were so impressed with them. Quickly having the crowd in the palm of their hands with their brotherly banter and quips to the audience, tune after tune they hit the mark. The brothers have set themselves a target of releasing a track every month for the next year, the latest of which was performed tonight was a cracking version of Springsteen’s ‘Dancing In The Dark’. And after a sweaty evening in the Sunflower, they did what comes naturally to them and joined the crowd on the floor for a raw acoustic sing-along, which brought great cheer from those present. A very talented duo indeed. Look out for any festival appearances this summer and do yourself a favour go along and see for yourself, we would.
