Artist Bio:

Rudimental are a British electronic group from Hackney, East London, known for bringing drum and bass, jungle, soul, grime and electronica together in a sound that has helped shape modern British dance music. The group currently operates as a trio, made up of childhood friends Piers Aggett, Kesi Dryden and Leon ‘Locksmith’ Rolle.

The band first emerged from London’s underground pirate radio scene before breaking into the mainstream in 2012 with ‘Feel the Love’, featuring John Newman. The single reached No.1 in the UK and became one of the defining dance tracks of the year, introducing Rudimental’s melodic, vocal-led take on drum and bass to a much wider audience.

Their debut album, ‘Home’, followed in 2013 and also reached No.1 in the UK. It featured a run of successful singles, including ‘Waiting All Night’ with Ella Eyre, which topped the UK chart and won the BRIT Award for British Single of the Year in 2014. Other early hits included ‘Not Giving In’ featuring John Newman and Alex Clare, and ‘Right Here’ featuring Foxes.

Rudimental continued their success with albums including ‘We the Generation’ and ‘Toast to Our Differences’, developing a sound that brings together electronic production, live instruments and soulful vocals. Their music has seen them work with a wide range of artists, including Ed Sheeran, John Newman, Ella Eyre, Jess Glynne and Anne-Marie.

Across their career, Rudimental have scored three UK No.1 singles and two UK No.1 albums, alongside BRIT and MOBO Awards and a Mercury Prize nomination. They have sold millions of records worldwide and amassed more than five billion streams, earning a place among the most-streamed drum and bass acts on Spotify.

The group have continued to champion both established names and emerging artists. Their self-titled fifth album, ‘Rudimental’, features collaborations with artists including Popcaan, Idris Elba, Khalid and MIST, alongside newer voices such as Charlotte Plank, Venbee and Mystic Marley. The record also includes ‘Dancing Is Healing’, which reached the UK Top 10, and ‘Green & Gold’ with Skepsis, a major drum and bass track in 2024.

A big part of Rudimental’s appeal is their live show, where electronic production meets live musicianship and an infectious festival atmosphere. From underground London beginnings to headline performances and major festival stages, they have helped bring drum and bass to a wider audience while staying connected to the scene that shaped them.

With a catalogue full of dancefloor favourites and a continuing stream of collaborations, Rudimental remain an important part of Britain’s electronic music scene, connecting generations of fans through their energetic sound and passion for drum and bass.
