Kaiser Chiefs have announced brand new album Duck as well as released its first track, catchy indie bop ‘Record Collection’.

Duck is due out for release on 26 July 2019 and will be the British guitar band’s seventh record to date. Frontman Ricky Wilson commented on the new song saying, “It’s a vibe. It’s about the internet and frustration with the internet, about how it rules our lives but we don’t really understand what it is and how we just click accept.”

Years after first forming in Leeds back in 2000, the band were determined to create an album that would pay tribute to their early breakthrough releases whilst still doing something new and different.

Duck was recorded and mixed with producer Ben H. Allen, who previously joined musical forces with the band on their 2014 No.1 album Education, Education, Education & War. Iain Archer also collaborated with Kaiser Chiefs on the album’s production with additional mixing by Mark “Spike”, who worked with Kaiser Chiefs on defining single ‘Everyday I Love You Less and Less’.

Wilson commented further, “It’s more exciting than it’s ever been. Every time there’s a big obstacle, it just gets blown away in the wind like a dandelion. We’re still selling out arenas but under the radar. We can make albums forever.”

Kaiser Chiefs are set to play a huge homecoming gig at Elland Road Stadium on 08 June 2019 as well as a series of summer UK show dates, tickets on sale now from Gigantic Eventim AXS Ticketmaster See Tickets
