Elles Bailey has shared new single ‘Ballad Of A Broken Dream’ ahead of her debut performance at Glastonbury this weekend.

The track is lifted from her forthcoming album ‘Beneath The Neon Glow’, due out on 09 August 2024 on Cooking Vinyl Records.

‘Ballad Of A Broken Dream’ delves into the struggles of being a musician. “There is no denying the link between musicians and mental health and the toil that this chosen path can take on a creative,” the artist commented. “The track follows the story of a tortured artist who, though undeniably exceedingly talented, has ended his career playing dive bars where no one knows his name. This song is a very personal song to me however tragically it’s the story of so many incredible talents who struggle with their mental health.”

Produced by Dan Weller (Enter Shikari) and recorded with Elles’ live band, ‘Beneath The Neon Glow’ sees the singer-songwriter intertwine British roots, Americana and blues across 10 uplifting tracks.

“I might be new to some people, but I have been around for quite a long while. I’m not here for a flash-in-the-pan moment. I want a long-term career in music. I love what I do. I love that I get to take it around the world. So if I can continue to do that, and just play to larger audiences and continue to grow, that’s exactly what I’ll do.”

Following a jam-packed summer festival season, Elles Bailey will hit the road in support of her new album in autumn 2024 as well as play a run of UK in-store shows this August – full details below:
