ZAYN has announced his fifth studio album, ‘KONNAKOL’, due out for release on 17 April 2026 via Mercury Records.
The full-length follows 2024s ‘Room Under The Stairs’ and is described as his most culturally inspired project to date.
The former One Direction member confirmed the album on social media, sharing artwork featuring a snow leopard, which is a significant symbol in South Asia that reflects his heritage.
Discussing the project, ZAYN explained the meaning behind the title saying, “It’s that time again, I have been lucky enough to make a fifth studio album… KONNAKOL in its definition is the act of creating percussive sounds with one’s voice but what it means to me lies somewhere much deeper. It is a sound that holds the reverberation of a time before words existed. I have always drawn on my heritage for inspiration since I first started making my own music; this album is a development of that understanding, knowing more now than ever who I am, where I come from and where I intend to go.”
Most recently, ZAYN teamed up with BLACKPINK’s Jisoo on the collaborative single ‘Eyes Closed’, which was released in October last year.
He also debuted new material from ‘KONNAKOL’ during his first-ever Las Vegas residency last month, following his 2025 debut headline solo tour. The album’s lead single, ‘Die For Me’, is set to arrive tomorrow (Friday 06 February), offering fans a first official taste of his new record.
