Tom Grennan is on a whirlwind at the moment. Not only has he recently scored his third number one album with, ‘Everywhere I Went, Led Me To Where I Didn’t Want To Be’, but became a father, and in his own words, is living his dream. As I’m presuming homage to where we are, we had an introduction playing ‘War Pigs’, by Black Sabbath before Grennan stormed onto the Utilita stage to thunderous applause. He was on top form, backed by a superb collection of musicians, and some mightily talented backing vocalists, he wowed the crowd with a mixture of classics and newer tunes, which in time will no doubt become staples of his set. His voice is spot on and you can hear the sincerity in his voice when he tells the crowd how much this means to him, constantly thanking everyone for their support and how special this was to him.

He is a bundle of pent-up energy, running around the stage seemingly to personally make contact with all of his adoring fans. And it didn’t make a difference on the reaction whether it was new album material or his now well established hits like, ‘A little Bit Of Love’, ‘Let’s Go Home Together’, ‘Somewhere Only We Go’, ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’, and of course, ‘Lionheart’, during which on the run back to the main stage, slipping onto his back, ouch! He said to the gasping crowd, “I’ve got to admit it, that hurt”, but he didn’t slow down.

With his ever-changing styles and performances like this Tom Grennan will be around for a long while yet, as long as he stays on his feet!
