The Prince of Darkness played his final show with Black Sabbath less than three weeks ago. The band’s star-studded ‘Back To The Beginning’ farewell show at Villa Park in Birmingham marked the first time that Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward had performed together since 2005.
The line-up also included the likes of Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, Tool, Slayer, Pantera, Metallica, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax and Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler.
The event has since become the highest-grossing charity concert of all time, raising £140 million. All profits will be equally split between Birmingham Children’s Hospital, Acorns Children’s Hospice and the Cure Parkinson’s charity.
From Black Sabbath and bat-biting to reality TV, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Grammy Award wins, Ozzy Osbourne changed music forever.
Rest in peace, Ozzy. And thank you for a lifetime of inspiration. Rock and Roll would not be as loud or as fun without you. You will be forever missed.
Our deepest condolences to the entire Osbourne and Sabbath family.

We’re heartbroken to hear about the passing of our brother in rock, Ozzy Osbourne. A voice that changed music forever. From Black Sabbath to his solo work, Ozzy redefined what it meant to be heavy. He did it all with heart, grit, and that wild spirit only he could bring.

RIP Ozzy. Without you, heavy metal might never have existed, and perhaps we would be doing something less fun with our lives. Who knows where we’d be without the incredible music you gave us. You’ve shaped so many lives and brought so much joy. Thank you for everything.

Sad to hear Ozzy died today. When I was in high school I discovered Sabbath. “War Pigs” was terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It was Ozzy’s voice that took me away to a dark universe. A great escape. Then when The ‘Blizzard of Ozz’ record came out I was instantly a… pic.twitter.com/2n3HBHHkcN

I didn’t think you would leave so soon the last time we met you were so full of life and your laugh filled up the room. But as it is written with legends, they seem to know things that we don’t. I will never forget you – you will be in every single note I sing and with me every… pic.twitter.com/vvCI4z862b
