We first came across Remember Monday at the Long Road Festival a couple of years ago. I’m guessing it must have been one of their first gigs, and they went down well enough, but since then things have certainly changed for this trio of close friends.

Not a manufactured group, they actually met each other and just clicked. After a bit of a shock decision to represent the UK in the Eurovision, they performed well, but as usual we didn’t win. Now they embark on a headline tour, and although they didn’t win the Eurovision, they received a very positive reaction to their harmonies, and judging on the full room tonight in Birmingham, picked up a lot of followers, of a varied age demographic.

With a set made up of covers and original EP releases and singles, as they are yet to release a full album, they gave an energetic performance. Thrilling the crowd with covers of Alanis Morissette’s ‘Hand In My Pocket’, Natasha Bedingfield’s ‘Unwritten’ and a medley of ‘Please Please Please’ by Sabrina Carpenter and Chappel Roan’s ‘Pink Pony Club’ went down a storm, but their own material received no less a reception. The girls, Holly-Anne Love, Charlotte Steele and Lauren Byrne, seem to have a natural rapport with a crowd and came across in a very down-to-earth way. Their harmonies are amazing, as shown in an informal request section of the set featuring a big bucket of requests from the crowd, and singing whatever song was picked, very impressive.

The obvious encore was, ‘What The Hell Just Happened?’, which sent the Birmingham crowd happy into the night. We look forward to a full proper album released soo,n and no doubt next time we see these girls will be on a bigger stage with a bigger production. Something to look forward to.
