Tonight, we are at the legendary Hare and Hounds to see one of our favourite bands, First Time Flyers. It’s two years since we first saw this brilliant band at CarFest playing the outside pub stage, and they have come a long way. This tour in support of their debut album, ‘Bound To Break’, which incidentally has gone straight into the country chart at number 2! And well deserved too, this album is a banger, full of their trademark very tight harmonies, and catchy, radio friendly songs that become ear worms quickly. We have had the pleasure of seeing this band on numerous occasions, either on their own or at festivals, and they never fail to deliver. With a high energy performance and the occasional slick dance moves, delivered with a great sense of humour, they are doing it the old way; get out there, grab your audience and don’t let them go.

With a full run through of ‘Bound To Break’, the packed Hare & Hounds crowd lapped it up and showed it. And for a weekday gig, most stayed behind to buy merch and have selfies with the band. The sound was spot on, and no way could we pick out a highlight, it was all a highlight – like the album. This band has it all, apart from as stated fantastic harmonies from the two ladies, Poppy Fardell and Vicki Manser, they have two great guitarists in Jake Morrell and Tim Prottey-Jones, whom both also have great voices, which makes them a formidable force allowing the band so much depth and variation. We feel like proud parents, watching this band fly – sorry, couldn’t resist it. And this is just the beginning as we know they have more top-class songs in their back pocket. So do yourself a favour, go see them, and buy the album, you won’t regret it.
