We didn’t know too much about Brett Young, but our interest was piqued on the understanding that anyone that plays the Utilita must have a decent following, and yes indeed he has. So, when this big, muscled man came on we were surprised that this mountain of a man is funny, likeable and engaging. Oh, by the way he can also sing. As if we needed proof apparently his first six singles went to No.1! And although the production wasn’t flashy, he didn’t need it, he has a connection with people and let the songs and stories do the job for him.

Backed by a fantastic band, with songs like, ‘Ticket To L.A’., ‘Tastes Like You’, ‘Kiss To Forget’, he took us on a roller coaster of emotions, tugging at our heart strings, especially with ‘Lady’, which he wrote for his wife and unborn daughter, and a wonderful duet with support, Sam Fischer, on ‘Mercy’, which had lots of the crowd in tears, brilliant.

With his album ‘2.0’ he will undoubtedly gather more followers and end up multi-platinum like a lot of his albums and rightly so. Flashy he’s not, but class he is. In one word, SUPERB.
