Paul McCartney has announced his first live UK dates in three years as he prepares to hit the road with the Freshen Up Tour for this December.

The tour will head to Glasgow, Liverpool and London, and will follow the release of brand-new studio album ‘Egypt Station’, due out on 07 September 2018.

The legendary Beatle’s last concerts in London and Birmingham took place in 2015 as part of his massive Out Here world tour, which kicked-off in 2013. His last visit to Scotland on the other hand was back in 2010 on the Up and Coming tour at Hampden Park.

The live shows will feature music from the singer-songwriters extensive back catalogue alongside some of the Beatles greatest musical numbers. Paul and his band have played a broad range of venues and locations across Europe, Japan, Australia, New Zealand and beyond, including the Coliseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace and The White House. They also held a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people, performed two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival in California as well as put on the last show ever at Candlestick Park in San Francisco, which is also where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966.

Paul’s band of the last 15+ years is made up of Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards, Brian Ray on bass/guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar and Abe Laboriel Jr on drums.

Paul commented on the tour saying, “There’s nothing like performing in front of your home crowd, especially when it’s been a while. I can’t wait to finish the year on such a high by partying in Liverpool, Glasgow and London. We’ve freshened up the show since our last time round and we are excited to get to play some of our new songs alongside some of the favourites.”
