Franz Ferdinand have announced that they will be hitting the road on a big UK & Ireland tour in 2018.

The Scottish rockers will kick-off their February dates with a show in Galway before making their way to Dublin, Manchester, Glasgow, London and more! The band will release their new album ‘Always Ascending’ on 09 February 2018 with 10 fresh new songs – listen to the first single here.

The track was recorded in London and Paris with the help of French producer Philippe Zdar. Showcasing the band’s broader sound, Franz Ferdinand frontman Alex Kapranos describes it as “simultaneously futuristic and naturalistic.”

  1. Alex Kapranos worked as both a welder and chef before getting his big break with Franz Ferdinand.
  2. The music video for hit single ‘Take Me Out’ was inspired by Max Ernst’s graphic novel ‘Une Semaine de Bonte’.
  3. The rockers took their name from a racehorse called the Archduke Ferdinand.
  4. Franz Ferdinand performed with Black Eyed Peas and Maroon 5 at the 2005 Grammy Awards.
  5. Their song ‘Lucid Dreams’ was used in the Madden NFL 09 video game.
