GTTF: Your latest EP is, ‘You’, which is available to download via iTunes both in the UK and USA. If you had to pick one song for us to listen to from, ‘You’, which song would you pick for us and why?

Skyler Stonestreet: If I had to choose, I would pick the song “You”, It really depicts that EP, and I had the chance to be super creative with playing new instruments, and trying new ideas. I feel like that song came about in such a natural way, but seemed to be different than anything I was writing at the time..

GTTF: Firstly how would you introduce and describe yourself to someone who doesn’t know who you are or what you do?

Mishal Moore: I would describe myself as a quirky, passionate and very honest artist. Everything else is just bells and whistles. I like to keep people guessing. Usually when I’m asked “What do you do?” I simply say songwriter. As soon as you say singer, the next question that follows is “Well, can you sing something for me?” Uh, yea, no. Happened once in a Starbucks (I didn’t sing), I kindly gave them my web info and invited them out to a show. People are funny.

GTTF: You’re debut single ‘Hot’ reached number 6 in the UK chart and has stayed in the top 40 for 9 weeks, were you surprised how well it did here in the UK?

Inna: Sure I was and I still am! I know it’s not easy at all to be successful in the UK! And I have so many messages on Youtube and Facebook from thousands of people from the UK.

LB: Hey Tinie. You’ve been to Ibiza loads recently, you must be feeling quite at home on the island?

TT: Yeah I had never been out here before – but this is going to be my third time in about a month! Before, I was the Ibiza Virgin! Everyone around me had been to Ibiza and couldn’t stop stressing about how amazing it was and I was the odd one out. So I knew how awesome it was going to be.

GTTF: A lot of actors find it hard to make a successful transition into the music world and feel they are not being taken seriously due to their pervious acting role. Do you feel your acting career has helped or been more of a hindrance to your singing career?

Sam Clark: People will buy songs because they like your music, initially it has given me a foot in the door to be heard by management within the industry but at the end of the day your music is what sells to your fans and if they don’t like it they’re not going to buy it, I’ve still had to put in all the hard work just like anyone else has.

GTTF: Sugar Rush was chosen as a single by your fans, do you intend to let them influence anymore important decisions?

Charlee Drew: I think it’s great to let my supporters get involved with stuff, especially at this stage, there’s been some solid support from the start, and it’s great to be able to give something back and let them feel like they’re involved in my moving forward as an artist!

GTTF: ‘Take Take’ is your debut single, can you tell us a bit about the song?

Octane OK: It most certainly is. Take Take is probably one of the oldest songs we have, it always went down really well with crowds when we played it live. We just thought, its catchy, you can dance to it, and you can sing along, even if its your first time hearing it! And we’ve had great feedback from the single, the video is the 3rd most requested video on Lava TV, only behind You Me At Six and Paramore, so yea, its gone down really well!

GTTF: Lets start of by talking about your smooth sexy singing voice. When I was doing my reading on you I couldn’t believe you started as a rapper. With a voice like yours, did you get taken seriously as a rapper?

Mike Posner: I was never really a rapper. I dabbled when I was a kid in high school but I wouldn’t say I was ever really a rapper.

GTTF: Your debut single ‘Cause An Effect’ is released on July 12th could you tell us a bit about the track and the inspiration behind it?

NFA: I wrote the song with a guy called d-bridge who is a UK based producer. The song has a real anthemic feel to it, it’s a real song to get the people involved, with the ‘through your hands up’ chorus. I wanted to take it further than just a great chorus though. There is a message involved too, it’s about getting up and getting moving. The lyric about dirty cops I didn’t mean as it sounds, not all cops are dirty! But you get bad cops, when those ones tell you to freeze it is a lot scarier!

GTTF: So your debut EP is being released on 19th July called ‘We Lived’, what’s the theme behind it?

Ashley: Life, love, deceit. Just any personal experience I’ve ever had. It is just basically about life. ‘We Lived’ is basically just every experience that I’ve had about the past 10 years and just had the chance to write about it. It’s about growing up I think, finding yourself, maturing that kind of thing.

GTTF: Now you have been in the music industry for 10 years which is no mean feat. What would you say was the biggest change in the industry that you have seen through the ten years?

Craig David: It would have to be the way in which music is bought and heard has changed. People now are not reliant about being in clubs or hearing it on the radio people hear music on Itunes or on the internet. The way in which people download music has changed things.

GTTF: Your new album has three new tracks on as well as your greatest hits but if you had to pick your favourite track from the album what would it be and why?

Lemar: My personal favourite track would be Mayday. I am very proud of that song. If I hadn’t written it and I heard it somewhere, recorded by someone else, I’d probably wish that I’d written it. The song that holds the most memories for me though, is Dance with you. It was my first time doing so many things. Loads of travelling, my first new video, my first full on tour. Great memories.

GTTF: Why did you decide to call the album ‘Bomb in a Birdcage’?

A Fine Frenzy: I think I had begun to feel really restricted… there were a lot of factors, the greatest of which was my own fear, but it was really starting to get to me. I sat down to write this album, and I found this strange feeling welling up inside of me. It was a powerful, rebellious fire in the pit of my stomach that I simply couldn’t ignore.

Trail: Alex (lead guitar/keyboards) and I (Charlie - vocals) first met in 2007 and began casually developing ideas in my bedroom studio. Quite soon we felt we had a few songs worth gigging and so we decided to recruit Alex’s housemates Eireann (rhythm guitar) and Simon (Bass).

GTTF: You let your fans decide upon what will be your next single, why did you decide to leave it to a fan vote and are you agreeing with the choices your fans are making?

Oswald: We felt it was time to let fans have more of a say in what bands do. Leaving it to the fans means that when we post demos on the site we get instant feedback on our songs and can quite clearly see what they want. So far so good we have agreed with their decisions!

GTTF: You are due to release your new EP soon what can Fan Death fans expect from that in terms of sound and inspirations behind it?

Fan Death: Well, the songs tend towards melancholia and of course most have the beautiful string and horn arrangements that are kind of our signature. Our inspirations are a mix of early synth pop and acoustic outsider folk things like Current 93, Comus, Lewis Furey and Cockney Rebel.

Roger: About your writing, how do you normally go about your song writing, do you always start with the lyrics or ever start with the music and put lyrics to them?

Get to the front: Now we know that you guys effectively formed through Facebook and twitter So following from that we want to know what is the weirdest or funniest thing that you have been sent though facebook or been tweeted?

Blake: I think the weirdest one was when we were looking for a new member one of our original members tom walked out on us about a year and a half into the band and he basically wanted to become an actor, and i think he is doing stage roles and things like that well he moved on and we desperately needed to find a new member who we all actually got on with very well and we were thinking of ways in which we could find them.

Ou Est Le Swimming Pool: It all started with us wanting to join the Eurovision Song Contest. We had no songs, no name, but we did own an acoustic guitar and an accordion. Those instruments combined with some wine and terrible French brought us to the epic name that is Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

Brooke: It made it easier, because when things are nartural & when they come from your heart you don’t really have to think about making stuff up, instead of writing a song about a certain situation that you’ve never experienced and try and imagine what that must feel lke, its better to have actually felt it.

Sneaky Sound System: It all happened by pure chance. I (Black Angus) was about to start a small Sunday night called Sneaky Sundays in Bondi Beach, Sydney, Australia. The night before the first gig I met MC Double D at a Cowboys and Indians fancy dress party; we clicked I asked him to come down and host the night and maybe jump on the mic, albeit occasionally (he had never emceed before!).

Get to the front: For anyone that hasn’t heard a Skint and Demoralised track before how would you describe the sound of your band?

Skint & Demoralised: The verses contain spoken word delivery which means that they’re primarily lyric-based and therefore quite a lot of them contain narratives of some sort. They’re very emotional and honest, so it’s important that you listen to what I’m saying and what the song is about. Musically it’s full of melodies and is driven by a love of Motown and Northern Soul music, but we’ve also drawn-in influences from bands such as The Smiths and Squeeze.
